Chief Designer, Max Lam In 2001, Max got a job offer from HSBC before his graduation in BBA - Information Systems. Thereafter, during the financial crisis in 2003, Max made a big step forward to quit his stable job and started self-learning, because satisfaction came from design is much more valuable than that from high salary and guaranteed prospect. He set up Moderne Design House Limited in 2004, he worked in several interior projects in Hong Kong and built up his own lighting brand – OWINDO (previously called m-Lighting). Max likes trying new things, so he always has novel ideas, such as infusion of natural elements into his designs, like leaf, flowers, stars, wind, etc. His ultimate principle is to enhance quality of life by filling the environment with creative and brilliant lighting, and by making lighting fixtures to be ornaments which furnish an environment with or even without illumination. In Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2006, Max’s designs were extraordinarily impressive and highly appreciated by the public and Ms Karin Beate Philips, the Founder/Director of The British European Design Group. Among thousands of exhibitors, Max’s “Plum Blossom” & “Diamond Princess” were selected by the organizer of the Lighting Fair (HKTDC), to be showcased at ‘Central Product Display’ in two consecutive years 2006 and 2007. |
